TTS Adventures Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all participants on our trips and ensuring that everyone who travels with us has a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience. This policy sets out our approach to safeguarding and our responsibilities to the people in our care.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Safeguarding Policy applies to all staff, contractors, volunteers, and trip leaders working with or on behalf of TTS Adventures Ltd. It covers all activities organised or facilitated by us, including trips, events, and online interactions.
Our trips are designed for adults aged 18 and over. However, this policy reflects our broader commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all participants and the communities we visit.
2. Our Commitment
TTS Adventures Ltd is committed to:
- Providing a safe and welcoming environment for all trip participants
- Taking all reasonable steps to protect participants from harm, abuse, or exploitation
- Treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and fairness regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, or sexual orientation
- Responding promptly and appropriately to any safeguarding concerns
- Ensuring that staff and trip leaders understand their safeguarding responsibilities
3. Responsibilities of Staff and Trip Leaders
All individuals representing TTS Adventures Ltd are expected to:
- Act with professionalism and maintain appropriate boundaries at all times
- Not engage in any behaviour that could be considered abusive, harassing, or exploitative
- Report any concerns about the welfare of a participant promptly to a designated member of the TTS Adventures Ltd management team
- Maintain confidentiality while recognising when it is necessary to share information to protect someone's safety
- Never use their position of trust to pursue personal relationships with trip participants
4. Participant Welfare
The safety and wellbeing of our participants is our highest priority. We take the following measures to protect participants:
- All trips are led by experienced, vetted trip leaders
- Emergency contact procedures are established and communicated before departure
- Participants are provided with a clear code of conduct and expected standards of behaviour
- We maintain open channels of communication so participants can raise concerns at any time
- We work only with reputable accommodation and activity providers
5. Code of Conduct for Participants
All participants on TTS Adventures Ltd trips are expected to:
- Treat fellow travellers, staff, and local communities with respect and consideration
- Refrain from any behaviour that is abusive, discriminatory, or harassing
- Comply with the instructions of trip leaders in matters of safety
- Report any concerns about their own safety or the safety of others to a trip leader or the TTS Adventures Ltd team
- Act in accordance with local laws and customs in all destinations visited
We reserve the right to remove any participant from a trip without refund if their behaviour poses a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others.
6. Reporting Concerns
If you have a safeguarding concern — whether about yourself, another participant, or the conduct of any person representing TTS Adventures Ltd — please report it immediately:
- During a trip: Speak directly to your trip leader or contact the TTS Adventures Ltd team
- At any time: Email us at support@thetravelsquad.com
All concerns will be treated seriously, handled with sensitivity, and responded to promptly. We will maintain appropriate confidentiality throughout any investigation.
7. Confidentiality and Information Sharing
Information about safeguarding concerns will be handled in confidence and shared only on a need-to-know basis. However, where we believe that an individual is at risk of harm, we may be required to share information with relevant authorities. In such cases, we will act in the best interests of the individual concerned.
8. Online Safety
We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful online environment across our social media channels, messaging groups, and any other digital platforms we operate. Any form of harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behaviour online will not be tolerated and may result in removal from our community platforms.
9. Review of This Policy
This Safeguarding Policy will be reviewed annually or following any significant safeguarding incident. Updated versions will be published on this page.
